The 19th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will open on October 2 in South Korea's southern port city of Busan.
The organizing committee on Tuesday held a news conference to announce schedules and programs for the annual film festival at the Busan Cinema Center.
Three-hundred-14 films from 79 countries will be shown on 33 screens in seven movie theaters throughout the city from October 2nd to the 11th.
This year's festival will open with "Paradise in Service" by Taiwanese filmmaker Doze Niu, and close with “Gangster Pay Day” by Lee Biu Cheung from Hong Kong.
In addition to the screenings, various events will be held during the festival period including Korean Cinema Retrospective and a program focusing on Turkish independent films to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Turkish cinema while a special program will screen films by female directors from Georgia, a country located on the coast of the Black Sea.
