N. Korea to Hand Over S. Korean Defector Sept. 11

North Korea has decided to hand over a South Korean national, who illegally entered the communist country through another country.

North Korea's state controlled Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the North's Red Cross Society has sent a letter to South Korea's Red Cross, saying the South Korean defector identified as Kim will be delivered through the truce village of Panmunjeom on September 11.

According to North Korea's Red Cross, Kim, who lives in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, went abroad due to his financial difficulties in the South and aimlessly entered North Korea. The Red Cross also said it has persuaded him to return to his family.

South Korea's unification ministry said it is looking into details of the report.
