Disabled Students from N. Korea to Perform in U.K.

Disabled students from North Korea will perform at Oxford and Cambridge universities in the U.K.

DULA, a North Korea humanitarian assistance organization based in London, said Tuesday that disabled children from North Korea will perform in a music and dance concert at the universities on October 24 and 27.

They will also perform at the Royal Academy of Music on October 25.

Most of the eleven children and teenagers who will perform are students at a school for the disabled in North Korea. They will play Arirang and music from the Phantom of the Opera on the accordion and the gayageum. They will also dance the scenes from the story Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

DULA said it is seeking to have the students perform at the U.K. Parliament and France, but those plans have yet to be confirmed.

The trip will be the first time that disabled students from North Korea will have performed abroad.
