Korean Football Team Advances to Quarterfinals of AFC U-16 Champs

Korea beat host Thailand 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championship.
 
At their final group stage match held at Muangthong Stadium in Bangkok on Wednesday, Barcelona-based forward Lee Seung-woo put Korea on the scoreboard with a goal right before halftime. 
 
Defender Hwang Tae-hyeon sealed the victory for Korea with a goal in the 61st minute.
 
The goal gave Team Korea, led by Coach Choi Jin-cheul, a third consecutive victory and a top finish in the four-team group A. Korea also beat Oman 3-1 and defeated Malaysia 1-0.
 
Korea will play against Group B runner-up Japan at the quarterfinal to be held at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.
