First Group of N. Korean Athletes Arrive In S. Korea for Asiad

The first group of North Korean athletes who will participate in the Incheon Asian Games arrived in South Korea Thursday. 

The 94 person group consisting of athletes, coaches, officials, doctors and journalists arrived at Incheon International Airports at 6:47 p.m. via a direct flight from the North over the Yellow Sea. Upon their arrival they were scheduled to travel straight to the athletes' village in Incheon under police escort.

North Korea will dispatch a total of 273 Asiad participants in five groups through September 28.

A total of 150 North Korean athletes will compete in 14 events at the games set to kick off on September 19 for a 16-day run.
