Two Koreas to Face off at AFC U-16 Championship Finals

South Korea has secured a place in the finals of the 2014 Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championship.

The South Korean team beat Syria 7-1 in the semifinals held in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday. The victory was mainly attributed to Jang Kyul-hee and Lee Seung-woo who are players for FC Barcelona youth teams.

North Korea also made it to the finals after defeating Australia 4-1 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw.

The last time the North advanced into the championship’s finals was in 2010.

South Korea will aim to win the championship for the third when it faces off against the North in the finals on Saturday.
