With tensions mounting over the war in Iraq, Korean Air has decided to change the route of some its flights to the Middle East. As a result, flight K-E-951 that passes through Cairo and Dubai twice a week will take a detour and fly 160 kilometers further to the south from the existing route at the southern border of Iraq. The national flag carrier is also looking into suspending its operations all together over the route in the event war begins in Iraq. Back in 2001, Korean Air suspended its services for two months due to the war in Afghanistan.
