South Korea claimed its first gold medal at the Incheon Asian Games on Saturday with Lee Ha-sung snagging first place in wushu.
Lee received a total of 9-point-71 points in men's changquan, after competing in the final at Ganghwa Dolmens Gymnasium against athletes like Jia Rui of Macau, who won silver.
The gold medalist received 5-point-00 points in quality of management and 2-point-00 points in degree of difficulty, which were the highest points possible in those categories. He also scored 2-point-71 points in overall performance.
Meanwhile, South Korea failed to win gold in early air rifle competitions on Saturday. Jung Ji-hye won the silver in the individual competition for the women's ten-meter air rifle, while the South Korean women's team failed to medal in the group competition, standing at fourth place.
South Korea won another silver medal in the men's 50-meter air rifle competition, while Olympic gold medalist Jin Jong-oh will attempt to come out on top in the individual games in the men's 50-meter pistol.
South Korea will aim for another gold medal in the women's group sabre fencing competition later on Saturday, as well as the women's group dressage competition.
