Olympic Champion Jin Jong-oh Ranks 7th in Men's 50-Meter Pistol

South Korea's three-time Olympic champion Jin Jong-oh failed in his first attempt for a gold medal at the Incheon Asian Games on Saturday in the men's individual 50-meter pistol event.

In the competition held at the Okryeon International Shooting Range, Jin ended up in seventh place after gaining a total of 92-point-1 points. Jin had ranked first in the preliminary round prior to the final competition.

Jin has participated in the Asian Games three times before, but has never been able to gain a gold medal in the individual events.

The 35-year-old displayed poor showing at Saturday's final round with only one ten-point mark. Jin shot eight-point-eight points on his first shot, followed by a nine-point shot. However, he quickly slipped down the ranking list after his third, fourth and sixth attempts all scored just eight-point-eight points.

After falling out of the top ranking in the 50-meter pistol, Jin will try to snag a gold medal in the men's 10-meter air pistol on Sunday.
