South Korea won five gold medals, including two in fencing, on the second day of the Incheon Asian Games on Saturday.

Lee Ra-jin upset London Olympic gold medalist Kim Ji-yeon 15-11 in the women’s sabre individual final held at Goyang Gymnasium in Gyeonggi Province Saturday night.

Lee advanced to the final beating China’s Li Fei 15-7, while Kim defeated China’s Shen Chen 15-11 in another semifinal.
 
Also at an all-Korean final in the men’s epee individual event, Jung Jin-sun beat Park Kyoung-doo 15-9 to win a gold medal.

Men’s cyclists also earned South Korea a gold medal. Composing of Kang Dong-jin, Yim Chae-bin and Son Je-yong, the Korean cycling team clocked 59-point-616 seconds at the team sprint final, beating China, which clocked 59-point-960 seconds. It is the first time ever South Korea won the event at the Asian Games.
 
South Korea’s women cyclists brought a silver medal in the team sprint event, losing to China in the final.
 
Lee Ha-sung beat Macau’s Jia Rui in the men’s wushu final, bringing the country’s first Asiad gold medal in the sport since the Busan Games in 2002.
 
South Korea also won a gold medal in horse riding. Hwang Young-shik, Chung Yoo-yeon and Kim Dong-seon combined for an average score of 71-point-746 points at the team dressage equestrian event, surpassing Japan’s 69-point-842 points. The victory extends South Korea’s Asiad dominance in the discipline for the fifth consecutive time.
 
With five gold medals, South Korea was tied with China atop the leaderboard as of 9 p.m. Saturday. South Korea also snagged five silver and five bronze medals.
 
In shooting, South Korea won two silver medals, with Jung Jee-hae losing to China’s Zhang Mengyuan in the women’s 10-meter air pistol final. The country’s men shooters, including three-time Olympic gold medalist Jin Jong-oh, also lost to China in the 50-meter pistol team final.
 
Jin was also short of a podium finish in the men’s individual 10-meter air pistol event held later in the day, finishing seventh. He will try to win a medal in the 10-meter air pistol event on Sunday.
 
The South Korean women's shooting team also failed to medal in the group competition, standing at fourth place.
 
Men’s judo players won three of the five bronze medals on Saturday.
 
The South Korea’s men’s badminton team, seeking their first Asiad gold medal in 12 years, defeated India 3-0 in Saturday's quarterfinal, setting up a semifinal game with Japan on Sunday.
 
The men’s handball team won their first match at the expense of Japan on Saturday. Eom Hyo-won scored nine goals, helping South Korea beat Japan 31-24.
 
In volleyball, South Korea’s men’s and women’s teams both got off to a solid start, beating Kazakhstan and India 3-0 and 3-0, respectively, in their first games. 
 
Meanwhile, North Korean weightlifter Om Yun-chol won North Korea’s first gold medal. He broke the world record in the clean and jerk event, lifting 170 kilograms. He lifted 468 kilograms in total, beating Vietnam’s Thach Kim Tuan, who lifted 454 kilograms.

North Korea's women's football team demolished Hong Kong 5-0 for their second consecutive victory in the group competition, securing a spot in the quarterfinal.
