Restaurants and Internet Cafes Required to Designate Nonsmoking Area

Big restaurants and Internet cafes will be required to designate at least half of their space as a nonsmoking area beginning April. The Ministry of Health and Welfare said a total smoking ban will also be enforced in buildings such as primary, middle and high schools as well as kindergartens and hospitals. The ministry announced these regulations in a bid to protect nonsmokers from the hazards of secondhand smoking.
