Seoul to Run Special Programs for Foreign Tourists Starting Thursday

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Monday that it will run special programs for foreign tourists starting from later this week, marking the height of autumn, South Korea’s peak tourism season.

For eleven days starting on Thursday, the city will hang banners and placards with welcome messages across seven special tourist zones in the city.

Seoul will also set up information booths in the special tourist zones where tourist information will be provided in various languages. Tourists can also send a postcard from the information booths to their families or friends back home.

The special tourist zones plan to give out Korean traditional paper fans, known as buchae, and discount coupons to be used at restaurants. A photo site will also be set up at the zones where tourists can try on Korean traditional clothing, known as hanbok, and take pictures.
