South Korea’s women's cycling team brought home a silver medal in the team pursuit event at the Incheon Asian Games on Monday.
The Korean team consisting of riders Son Hee-jung, Kim You-ri, Lee Ju-mi and Na Ah-reum were overtaken by China’s team comprised of riders Zhao Baofang, Huang Dongyan, Jiang Wenwen and Jing Yali in the two-team final at the Incheon International Velodrome.
In the team pursuit event, two opponent teams start on the opposite side of the track. The team that catches the other or the team that finishes the race faster than the other wins the event.
It took four minutes 28-point-469 seconds for the Chinese to overtake the Koreans at the final, making it a new game record that renews four minutes 33-point-64 seconds of a game record the Chinese team set at a preliminary event on Sunday.
Taiwan claimed the bronze medal ahead of Japan.
