N. Korean Weightlifters Set New World Records in Incheon Asiad

North Korean weightlifters have continued to break world records in the 2014 Asian Games.

As of Monday, four out of six new world records in the weightlifting category at the Incheon Asiad were set by North Korean athletes.

On Saturday, North Korean weightlifter Om Yun-chol broke the world record in the men’s 56-kilogram event. A day later, another North Korean weightlifter Kim Un-guk set a new world record once in the snatch and twice in the total weight of the men’s 62-kilogram event.

In a news conference on Tuesday, Om told reporters that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un taught that "an egg filled with ideology can break a rock."

The two other world records were set by female weightlifters from Taiwan and Kazakhstan in the 53-kilogram event.

Meanwhile, North Korean air rifle shooters set a new world record in the 10-meter event by scoring one-thousand-253-point-eight points.
