S. Korea Wins More Gold in Fencing Team Events

South Korea won more gold medals on Wednesday in fencing team events at the Incheon Asian Games.

The men's sabre team, comprised of Gu Bon-gil, Kim Jung-hwan, Oh Eun-seok and Won Woo-young, won 45 to 26 against Iran to grab its first Asiad gold in 12 years.

Earlier in the day, the women’s foil team won its fifth consecutive gold since the Bangkok Asian Games in 1998. Jeon Hee-sook, Nam Hyun-hee, Oh Ha-na and Kim Mi-na scored 32 points against China's 27.

South Korea has grabbed eight gold medals in fencing so far at this year's Asian Games. The number has broken the previous record set by China with seven gold medals both at the Doha Asian Games in 2006 and the Beijing Asian Games in 1990. With eight gold, five silver and two bronze medals under its belt, the South Korean fencing team will vie for more wins at the women's epee and men's foil team events on Thursday.
