Korea to Reject WTO's Farm Markets Liberalization Proposal

South Korea is rejecting the World Trade Organization's proposal for farm market liberalization.

The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said the WTO proposal calls for a greater reduction in import tariffs and subsidies than South Korea proposed.

W-T-O members are scheduled to meet in Geneva starting next Tuesday to negotiate the scope of agricultural market liberalization under the WTO's Doha Development Agenda.
