S. Korea Wins 1st Gold Medal in Bowling at Incheon Asiad

South Korea won its first gold medal in bowling at the Incheon Asian Games on Friday.

The pair, Son Yun-hee and Lee Na-young, combined scores for a total of two-thousand-553 points in the women's doubles final, beating the Malaysian duo, Shalin Zulkifli and Sin Li Jane, with their score of two-thousand-518 points.

Another South Korean pair, Lee Yeong-seung and Jung Da-wun, grabbed a bronze medal in the same final with two-thousand-462 points.

It is South Korea’s second straight gold medal in the women’s doubles since the victory at the Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010.

South Korea also won a silver medal in the triathlon mixed final on Friday. Japan took a gold medal, while China came in third. The triathlon at the Incheon Asian Games is the first time a mixed competition has taken place at an Asiad.
