S. Korea Wins First Asiad Gold in Kayak in 24 Years

South Korea added medals in kayak on the eleventh day of the Incheon Asian Games on Monday.

South Korean paddler Cho Gwang-hee came in first in the men’s 200-meter individual kayak sprint with a time of 35-point-464 seconds, grabbing the first Asiad gold medal in the event for South Korea since the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing.

The South Korean women's team took a silver medal in the K-4 500-meter sprint event, with a time of one minute 36-point-890 seconds.

Lee Sun-ja added a bronze in the women's individual K-1 500-meter sprint.

South Korean athletes will continue their pursuit of medals in shooting and wrestling.

South Korea’s men’s handball team will face Bahrain, while women’s football team will fight North Korea in a semifinal.
