Pope Francis Holds Consoling Memories of Korean Visit

Pope Francis says that his visit to South Korea in August was a time of consolation for himself.

The Archdiocese of Seoul said Tuesday that the pope made the remark in a 30-minute one-on-one meeting with Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung at the Vatican last week. The pope also said that memories of his trip to Korea are still in his heart.

Yeom expressed his appreciation for the pope’s visit, saying that Korean people and the Korean Catholic Church still keep in mind what the pope said and did during his stay.

In response, the pope said he feels grateful and that he enjoyed his trip.

The cardinal told the pope that he had consoled and healed the wounded hearts of the South Korean people and gave him a commemorative stamp and coin representing the papal visit.
