19th Busan Int’l Film Festival to Open Thursday Evening

The 19th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will open on Thursday evening for a 10-day run.
 
South Korean actress Moon So-ri and Japanese actor Ken Watanabe will co-host the opening ceremony at this year’s film festival, which will begin at 6 p.m. at the Busan Cinema Center.
 
This year's festival will open with the film "Paradise in Service" by Taiwanese filmmaker Doze Niu.
 
The event will feature 314 movies from 79 countries. The films will be shown on 33 screens in seven movie theaters throughout the city. Among the festival’s films, 98 will premiere in Busan.
 
In addition to the screenings, a variety of programs and events will be held, including meetings between actors and directors and fans.
  
The ten-day film festival will run through October 11.
