Seoul Intl Fireworks Festival to be Held in Yeouido

The Seoul International Fireworks Festival will be held in Yeouido on Saturday, with traffic restrictions expected to be placed around the area.

Seoul City officials said roads from south of Mapo Bridge to the 63 Building will be blocked off from 2 p.m., while 21 bus routes going through the area will also be altered during the restricted period.

Those who illegally park or stay idle in areas near Yeouido to watch the fireworks will be fined or towed, with city officials planning to beef up traffic monitoring.

To encourage sightseers to take public transportation, subway lines five and nine will operate 78 more trains than Saturday’s usual schedule.
