S. Korea Team for Asian Para Games Launched

The South Korean national team for the 2014 Incheon Asian Para Games has vowed to rank second or higher in the medal standings.

The Korea Paralympic Committee encouraged South Korean athletes with disabilities on Tuesday in a ceremony for the launch of the national team at a training center in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Committee Chairman Kim Sung-il said that the athletes have been training hard for the games bearing the pride of being on the national team. Kim said that the athletes will certainly win more than 50 gold medals and achieve their goal to finish second or higher in the medal rankings.

The Incheon Asian Para Games will be held from October 18 to 24, with about six-thousand athletes from 41 countries competing in 23 sports.

South Korea finished third in the medal standings at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Para Games.
