South Korean movie theaters saw record high sales and admissions in the third quarter of this year.

The Korean Film Council said movie ticket sales totaled 539-point-nine billion won in the July to September period, up 60-point-nine billion won from the same period last year.

Admissions also reached a quarterly record of 69-point-18 million, one-point-98 million higher than the year before.

During the cited period, Korean movies garnered 43-point-26 million admissions, similar to a year-ago level, while foreign movies' admissions totaled 23-point-93 million, up one-point-99 million from a year earlier.
