The 2014 Seoul Arirang Festival will be held from Friday to Sunday in Gwanghwamun Plaza and Gyeonghuigung Palace in Seoul.
Organized by Seoul City and organizing committee, the festival is the second of its kind since the Korean folk song Arirang was added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2012. The theme of the latest festival is "Song of Hope, Arirang."

Citizens can enjoy various feelings of Arirang, including traditional Arirang, or Arirang created with electronic or rock music arrangements. In the program "Show off, Arirang," participants will express Arirang in various ways including dancing, singing and musical performance. Corporate sponsors will donate 10-thousand won per participant to ChildFund Korea.

The Arirang parade "Your Arirang" is slated to take place for one and a half hours from 5 p.m. on October 12, and as a result Sejong Street will be closed both ways during that time.
