N. Korea Discusses Possibly Canceling Inter-Korean Talks

North Korea's state-run propaganda website Uriminzokkiri said on Saturday the high-level talks the two Koreas had agreed upon could now be a "foregone opportunity."

Citing Friday's cross-border exchange of fire over South Korean activist groups' anti-Pyongyang leaflet activities, the website said the leaflets insulted the North Korean regime and the dignity of its people.

It also blamed North Korean defectors' groups for sparking a grave situation in which the two Koreas exchanged fire.

It went on to say that relations between the two Koreas had returned to where they were before and that the talks the two Koreas agreed to hold last week is like a missed opportunity.

The website said the future of inter-Korean relations depended on the future actions of the South Korean government.
