"Two Koreas to Discuss Easing Tension at Military Talks"

Seoul and Pyongyang are said to be aiming to hold military talks in the near future.

A government source said Wednesday that the talks are being considered for the sake of easing military tensions. The source said a possible date has yet to be set, adding that South and North Korea are aiming to hold the talks soon.

The two Koreas are said to have held discussions on holding military talks following the North’s telephone message to the South last Wednesday as fire was exchanged between the two sides after a North Korean patrol boat violated the Northern Limit Line (NLL) de facto sea border.

The government official said both Koreas are carefully preparing for the military talks.

If realized, the talks will likely focus on easing military tensions along the NLL as well as the distribution of anti-Pyongyang propaganda leaflets by South Korean activists.
