The Samsung Lions have become the first baseball team to win the regular season of the Korea Baseball Organization for the fourth consecutive time.
 
The Lions achieved the feat by beating the LG Twins 5-3 on Wednesday at their home in Daegu, with one more game left to play before wrapping up the season.
 
As the first place holders of the regular season, the Lions will have a bye in the Korean Series where they will play the winner of the second round of playoffs.
 
The Nexen Heroes have secured the runner-up spot, while the NC Dinos are in third place.
 
The Twins, who are competing with the SK Wyverns for the final spot for the playoffs, still maintained a one-and-a-half game lead over the fifth-place Wyverns, who lost to the Doosan Bears 6-3 on Wednesday.
