North Korea has criticized President Park Geun-hye for her comments at the recently held Asia-Europe Meeting where she urged the North to give up its nuclear program and address its human rights issue with sincerity.
The North made the criticism on Saturday in a report by a spokesman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland (CPRF), which was delivered through the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
In the report, the spokesman said that President Park’s remarks were politically provocative and threatening to the relations between the two Koreas. He added that if the president truly wants inter-Korean relations and talks to improve, she should refrain from making such comments.
The spokesman added that Park exemplified a "double-dealing attitude" in which she called for dialogue between the two Koreas but continued to criticize the North at the same time.
He went on to reiterate that the nuclear threat by the U.S. should be removed for denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula to occur.
