KCNA: Kim Jong-un Inspects Military Drill

North Korean media reported Friday that its leader Kim Jong-un inspected a joint exercise of two military units.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said that Kim "guided" a field training exercise between the Korean People's Army (KPA) Large Combined Unit 526 and the KPA Combined Unit 478.

The North’s official paper, Rodong Sinmun, posted photos of Kim watching over the drill with a baton or binoculars and a cane in his left hand.

The KCNA said that Kim’s senior officials, including Hwang Pyong-so, director of the North Korean People's Army General Political Bureau, and Choe Ryong-hae, a secretary of the North's ruling Workers' Party, accompanied him during the drill.

It was Kim’s second inspection of a military unit after he returned from a 40-day absence from the public view on October 14.
