N. Korea Bans Spanish Cameraman's Visit Citing Ebola Concern

The Dutch organizer for a press visit to North Korea said Monday that the North has turned down a Spanish cameraman’s entry out of concerns over the Ebola virus.

The trip’s organizer Paul Tija, who does business with the North, told the Dutch public broadcasting company NOS that cameraman Marc Martinez Sarrado was banned entry by the North’s officials. Tija said North Korea considers Spain to be a risk country regarding the spread of the Ebola virus.

Prior to the incident, the North was known to have banned foreign tourists from entering the country to prevent the inflow of the deadly virus.

Several foreign travel agencies that offer trips to North Korea informed their customers on Friday that the North will not allow foreign tourists to visit until they give notice of lifting the measure.
