KFA President Submits Bid to Host 2 FIFA Women's World Cups

Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-gyu has submitted a bid to FIFA to host the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Chung said he will actively work for South Korea to become the host for the sporting events in a bid to promote women’s football. He said if South Korea becomes the host, the move would gain the interest of the Korean people.

Other than South Korea, France and South Africa are also aiming to host the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The FIFA Executive Committee will decide on the host country next March.
