Gov't Approves Visit by North Korean Youth Football Team

The government has given the green light for North Korea’s youth football team to take part in an international football tournament to be held in South Korea.

The Unification Ministry said Friday it approved the entry of 32 North Korean football players who will participate in the U-15 competition in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, set to kick off on November 7.

The North Korean team is slated to arrive at the Incheon International Airport on Sunday.

A total of six teams from four countries including China and Uzbekistan will be competing in the U-15 event.

KBS will broadcast live the opening match between South and North Korea at 12:50 p.m. on November 7.
