The Nexen Heroes beat the LG Twins 12-2 at Jamsil Stadium on Friday to now advance to the Korean Series for the first time since the team's foundation.

Nexen's Friday victory against LG was its third in the best-of-five playoff series.

The team's shortstop Kang Jung-ho was selected as most valuable player of the playoffs.

The Nexen Heroes will now face the Samsung Lions in the best-of-seven Korean Series, which Samsung has dominated for the past three years. The first game is set for November 4.
