South Korea has called on U.S. officials to refrain from making irresponsible remarks related to the withdrawal of U.S. forces from South Korea and the North Korean nuclear issue. After a meeting of senior presidential secretaries, Cheong Wa Dae spokeswoman Song Kyoung-hee said Foreign Minister Yoon Young-kwan made the request on Monday. Yoon was quoted as telling the United States that remarks on U.S. forces should be made through appropriate channels in the future and that they be released after close consultation between Washington and Seoul.
