Jeju Island will be hosting the general convention of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) and the Women's World Boxing Championships next week.

First the week long 2014 AIBA Congress will be held from Sunday at the Jeju Convention Center. Some 600 boxing officials from 141 countries will be attending.

Beginning with the secretariat meeting, the officials will discuss ways to boost the future and development of boxing and elect a new chairperson and vice chair.

Then the boxing championships will kick off on the 16th at Halla Gymnasium with some 900 athletes and officials from 75 countries attending. The semi-finals and the final match will be held on the 23rd and 24th respectively.
