South Korean short track skater Shim Suk-hee has won three gold medals at the ISU World Cup Short Track Ice Skating Series 2014/2015, which opened in Salt Lake City in the U.S. state of Utah.
Shim won the second women’s 1,000-meter race Sunday, crossing the finish line ahead of compatriot Kim A-lang with a time of one minute and 35-point-740 seconds.
In the women’s 3,000-meter relay, Shim and her three teammates claimed the win, followed by Chinese skaters.
Previously on the opening day, the 17-year-old won the women’s 1,500-meter event.
She has earned gold medals for 11 straight competitions held as part of the World Cup series.
On the men’s side, South Korean skater Seo Yi-ra won his first gold medal at the World Cup series by claiming the second men’s 1,000-meter race.
Russia’s Viktor Ahn finished first in the men’s 500-meter final but was later disqualified for unfairly blocking a Chinese skater during the race.
