Spain's Cruz Wins World Ssireum Championship

Spain's Lucha Canaria champion Dennis Cruz has won the world championship for ssireum, or Korean traditional wrestling for the second straight year.

At the World Ssireum Championship, Cruz beat fellow Spaniard Marcos Ledesma Perez in the final match held in Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province 2:0.

Meanwhile, Curtis Johnson, known as the U.S. ssireum giant with a height of 233 centimeters and weight of 190 kilogram was defeated by Perez in the semifinals and took third place. 

Five of the eight quarterfinalists were from Spain. The remaining three were from the U.S., China and Mongolia.
