Choi Min-jeong Wins Gold at ISU Short Track World Cup

South Korean skater Choi Min-jeong has won a gold medal at the ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup in Montreal, Canada.

In the women’s 1,500-meter final race on Saturday, Choi finished first with a time of 23-minutes and 38.970 seconds, defeating Italy’s Arianna Fontana and compatriot rival Shim Suk-hee. Choi, a 16-year-old skater, was selected a member of the national team this year.

In men’s 1,500-meter final, Park Se-yeong and Shin Da-un grabbed gold and silver each.

Kwak Yoon-ki took bronze in the men’s 500-meter final, while Chun Ji-soo won bronze in the women’s 500 meter final.
