The two Koreas will hold working-level talks at the Gaesong Industrial Complex on Friday to discuss the plan by former first lady Lee Hee-ho to visit the North.
An official from the Kim Dae Jung Peace Center in Seoul said Wednesday that it held discussions with the North’s Asia-Pacific Peace Committee and arranged the meeting.
On the South’s part, seven people will attend the meeting slated for 10 a.m., including Yoon Cheol-gu, the secretary general of the Kim Dae Jung Peace Center and former Culture Minister Kim Sung-jae.
The Kim Dae Jung Peace Center said the talks will decide on matters including when Lee will visit the North and where she will visit, and what type of aid she will bring.
Meanwhile, Seoul's Ministry of Unification on Wednesday approved Lee's visit to the North.
Lee, the widow of former President Kim Dae-jung, is seeking to help South Korean NGO groups with their aid programs for children in the North. Kim received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2000 for his role in the historic inter-Korean summit held earlier that year.
