North Korea is strongly protesting a new UN resolution condemning the North’s human rights violations.
The North Korean Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday that it is fully rejecting the resolution, criticizing the U.S. for leading its passage with a purpose to overthrow the North Korean regime.
The ministry said that the U.S.’ hostile acts are making the North not want to further refrain from conducting nuclear tests. It even threatened that North Korea will reinforce its war deterrence capabilities limitlessly against the U.S.’ military intervention.
The North insisted that the U.S. was behind the European Union and Japan, which pressured the international community to pass the UN resolution. It warned that the U.S. and its followers will be held responsible for all the ensuing results.
The UN Third Committee passed the resolution on Tuesday, which calls for North Korea’s human rights conditions to be referred to the International Criminal Court.
