N. Korea Says US Pressure Led to Passage of UN Resolution

North Korea has threatened to mobilize all possible measures against the United States, claiming that the U.S.’ undue pressure led to the approval of a landmark UN resolution on its human rights violations.

The Minju Chosun, Pyongyang’s official paper published by the Cabinet, said on Saturday that the U.S. drew a sword for all-out confrontation against the North. It added the North will take all possible measures to prepare for the worst.

The Rodong Sinmun, the gazette of the North's ruling Workers' Party, also reported commentaries and editorials condemning the passage of the UN resolution.

The UN Third Committee passed a resolution on Tuesday calling for the North's human rights conditions to be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Members of the committee passed the European Union-authored resolution with 111 in favor and 19 against, while 55 members abstained.
