Over in Iraq ... coalition missiles and warplanes struck Iraqi state-run television station early Wednesday ... knocking the station's signal off the air.

After a series of explosions along with the sound of low flying aircraft, smoke was seen next to the information ministry and the Iraqi TV building.

U.S.-led troops are within 70 kilometers of Baghdad, setting up a crucial battle for the control of the Iraqi capital.

Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf said his countrymen are unshaken and awaiting surprises on how the American game of "shock and awe" will fail.
