N. Korea Replaces its Air Force Commander

North Korea was confirmed to have replaced its Air Force commander, Ri Pyong-chol, with Choe Yong-ho.

The North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency on Monday described Choe as the commander of the North’s Air Force when it covered a story about North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspecting the Air Force unit 458.

Choe’s predecessor, Ri, was described as a member of the Workers’ Party of Korea Central Military Commission who accompanied Kim to the inspection of the unit.

According to the report, Kim said the achievements of his father and grandfather are compiled in the 458 unit and ordered the Air Force to make a new training room that will provide education on the North’s revolutionary history.
