Documentary "My Love, Don't Cross That River" Tops 300,000 Viewers

A South Korean documentary about the love of an elderly couple has drawn over 300-thousand viewers to the box office.

The Korean Film Council said Wednesday that almost 35-thousand people saw “My Love, Don't Cross That River” on Tuesday, drawing a combined 305-thousand viewers in 13 days since its release.

The documentary topped 100-thousand viewers in just seven days since its release, surpassed the 200-thousand mark in eleven days and is on pace to surpass “Old Partner,” a 2009 documentary which set a box-office record for Korean independent films.

“My Love, Don’t Cross That River” was also placed third in the box-office rankings for the second straight day after "Interstellar" and "Exodus: Gods and Kings."

The film directed by Jin Mo-young is about a 98-year-old husband and his 89-year-old wife who love each other dearly and confront the last moments of their 76-year marriage.
