Chile Opens Korean Study Center

A university in Chile has opened an academic center for Korean Studies.
 
The South Korean Embassy to Chile said that the University of Santiago hosted the opening ceremony of the Korean Study Center at the university on Wednesday.
 
The University of Santiago said the center will facilitate cooperation between Chile and South Korea on research and personnel exchange.
 
It is the first time a Korean Study center has been established in the Latin American country as an independent entity.
 
The Catholic University of Chile has a Korean studies program as part of its Asian studies program and The Sejong Institute and the Central University of Chile run Korean language programs in the country.
