South Korea's rising swimming star Lee Ho-joon won three gold medals at Lake Macquarie International Children's Games in Newcastle, Australia.

The 13-year-old swimmer won gold medals in the 400 meter freestyle, 100 meter freestyle and 400 meter relay.

Lee's 400 meter freestyle record of three minutes and 58-point-75 seconds shortened the middle school Korean record he owns by more than three seconds.

Lee has come into the spotlight and is seen potentially following in the footsteps of swimming star Park Tae-hwan.
