Lee Sang-hwa Wins 500m in Speed Skating World Cup

Olympic champion Lee Sang-hwa won her fourth consecutive World Cup gold medal of this season in the 500-meter race.

In the International Skating Union World Cup Heerenveen that kicked off in the Dutch city on Friday for a three-day run, Lee clinched victory in the ladies' 500-meter Division A with the record of 37-point-69 seconds, edging out Kodaira Nao of Japan by one hundredth of a second.

South Korea also came out on top in the men’s team pursuit with a time of three minutes and 44-point-57 seconds while the Netherlands and Norway finished second and third respectively.
