N. Korea Blames US for "Denuclearization Failure"

Pyongyang has claimed that the denuclearization agreement in the six-way nuclear talks has lost meaning due to Washington pressuring the North on its human rights conditions.

A spokesman of the North’s Foreign Ministry said in an interview with the North’s state-run Korean Central News Agency on Monday that the U.S. is pressuring the North on groundless claims. The spokesman added that the U.S. will face an unprecedented, resolute response from the North and will have to assume responsibility for the collapse of efforts regarding denuclearization on the peninsula.

The spokesman said the North had agreed to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in order to remove nuclear threats by the U.S.

He added that any dialogue on the nuclear issue is meaningless as the confrontation over human rights issues has reached a certain level.
