S. Korean Films Sell Over 100 Mln Tickets for Third Year

Ticket sales for South Korean films have cleared the 100-million mark for the third year in a row.
 
The Korean Film Council announced that South Korean box offices combined their totals to reach the landmark figure on Monday.
 
Ticket sales for South Korean movies exceeded the 100-million mark for the first time in 2012 after standing at roughly 114 million. Last year, the number of moviegoers who went to see Korean flicks amounted to around 127 million.
 
Meanwhile, the number of moviegoers who went to watch foreign films surpassed 100 million for the first time this year.
 
The total number of people who went to see films in South Korea this year exceeded 200 million for the second consecutive year.
