The government marked the first work day of 2015 with a ceremony at the Sejong Government Complex in South Chungcheong Province Friday morning.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Chung Hong-won promised that the government will make strenuous efforts in the new year to defuse inter-Korean confrontation and make a way for inter-Korean dialogue and joint prosperity.
He also stressed that 2015 should be a year of producing results in government policies for the public to feel their impact.
He also mentioned boosting the economy and stabilizing public livelihood as top priorities in state affairs. The prime minister said the government will implement policies more aggressively, particularly the three-year economic reform plan, for the structural reform and advancement of the Korean economy.
Chung also called for further developing the creative economy initiative to create growth engines and for bold deregulation to remove obstacles that hinder economic growth and public life.
